Fabric Care Center's Community Involvement

We take great pride in supporting the community in which we work and live.  Each year, we sponsor the Riley Children’s Foundation Cancer Prom.  This campaign has collected, cleaned and donated more than 10,000 formalwear garments and accessories from our customers and the community, making possible a life experience and rite of passage that all kids deserve: going to The Prom.

The Riley Children's Foundation is an important recipient of our community efforts, through service donation, logistical support, event participation, and fundraising initiatives such as our $40 for $20 program... delivery of $40 worth of dry cleaning to new customers who donate $20 to The Riley Cancer Prom.

Fabric Care Center
has pledged to raise an additional $4,000 to help make this event possible. 100% of the proceeds are given directly to Riley.  To learn more about how you can do your part for the Riley kids, click here.

In 2012 we hope to eclipse our past efforts in fundraising and event involvement.

Fabric Care Center is also proud to sponsor charitable organizations because at Fabric Care Center, we believe that making a difference in our community is good business.

Some examples of our ongoing and past sponsorships and affiliations are:

Danny's Closet of Hope is a St. Vincent Health affiliated program that provides interview suits and associated attire for men who have completed an approved job-readiness-training program.  Fabric Care Center provides dry cleaning and logistical support for the donations to this program.
>  Lawrence Central High School Performing Arts Dept.
>  Ben Davis High School Choral Department.
>  Holy Trinity Church GOYA youth organization.

With each of these groups we have partnered in the $20 for $40 in
            dry cleaning program
similar to the Riley Children's Foundation program above.
Suit Cleaning for the Unemployed

Early in the Great Recession, in 2009, Fabric Care Center offered a one-time program to help job-seekers by cleaning one suit free for each person who also brought in a resume.  Resumes were forwarded to an Express Employment Professionals, thereby increasing their prospects for a new job.
